Company Update:

On 3 December, Givaudan announced its creation of a new humanitarian fund providing financial support during major crises in areas where the company is present, with the first donation being sent to support response and recovery efforts in communities affected by the recent flooding in Valencia. The donation will be made to the Spanish Red Cross and consists of 100.000CHF.

Simon Halle-Smith, Head of Global Human Resources and EHS, commented, “We remain committed to supporting our communities across the globe and our new Givaudan Humanitarian Fund is an important way of continuing to act on this commitment.”

Sustainability Update:

Marks & Spencer has strengthened its dedication to sustainability by expanding its beauty packaging recycling program to more locations across the UK. Initially launched in 40 stores last year, the initiative now includes an additional 60 locations. To date, this recycling program has successfully recycled over 1.6 tonnes of beauty packaging. A standout feature of the scheme is the creation of a wide-toothed hair comb, crafted from at least 98% of the collected beauty packaging. This comb is available for purchase, representing a successful recycling effort while providing a practical use for the gathered materials.

The expansion of its beauty recycling initiative aligns with M&S’s larger “another life” program, which aims for net zero by 2040.
